OP Theme: Kurenai by Ui Miyazaki - This song is a pretty good song, it was a rather strong and fast song which suited the animation. In regards to the animation, it takes small clips from this episode which doesn’t really seem good however some good animes like Stellvia have done it and turned out really well. The good song can save the animation I think.
ED Theme: Erinyes by Betta Flash - A fairly good song however some parts of it seem to go a bit… high pitched or whatever you call it which I don’t really like, however on the most part of it, it is a good song. The animation is a collation of images which look really good, especially the excellent drawing of the image in the second image I posted under this heading.
Summary: Renji is a missionary for a company (I believe this is it), and he is summoned to the office of a woman named Anzelotte. Renji is dispatched to a part on earth and he fights skeletons with another red haired woman with a large gun. He pulls out his magic sword and starts slashing at them.
Somewhere else on earth, a girl named Elis is talking with someone and then goes to school. As it is her first day at school, she is introduced to the class and then is bombarded with school club opportunities which seem to be quite common to receive in Japanese schools. A girl called Kureha manages to get her away from the large mass of students and takes her to another room in this school and introduces herself.
Renji on the other hand is summoned once again by Anzelotte to do another fight much to his hatred. He is surrounded by men who carry him off to her. Kureha and Elis are still in the room when they hear Kureha’s screams. She says it must have been something else and tells Elis that he is her annoying friend. Kureha takes her to the roof and discusses the school shrine and something about a tree. A girl named Zephyr notices something odd about Elis when the moon turns a shade of crimson.
When Elis sees this, she walks out of her home. Kureha notices this as well and follows her to the magic tree at school. There is a bracelet on Elis’ hand and a magic ball appears. Kureha talks to her a bit and the tree is filled with Sakura. A monster then appears and attacks the two while Zephyr is watching. Kureha summons her weapon which is some sort of bow. When they are nearly beaten by the monster, Renji appears out of the sky and helps them. When the monster nearly attacks Elis, the ball of light somehow enters he bracelet and summons a giant impenetrable shield which blocks the attack. The other two manage to defeat it.
They both introduce themselves as Night Wizards. She is then introduced to Anzelotte later on and then becomes a member of the Night Wizards. The episode ends here.
Review: This was a fairly good episode, I found everything to be pretty good about it with likeable characters, good music/graphics and a storyline. The problem is, it isnt really in my interest field so I am unsure if I would actually be able to keep my interests in this series for the whole season. I will check out another episode or two to see what it is like but only time will tell.
