Summary: There is a meeting held in the meeting room in Himizawa with the representatives for the dam construction there, and of course, they all want them to leave. The Sonozaki elder speaks up and tells everyone to listen and be quiet however this only further aggravates them.
A man who is Satoko’s father complains about the Sonozaki’s and tells them to shut up as they do not own the village and that he thinks that the dam construction should go ahead. This causes alot of conflict among both parties while Hanyuu is in the corner appologising over and over again.
At the Doctors clinic, Irie answers the door to find Satoshi Hojo carrying Satoko on his back asking for his help. Takano and Irie talk to Satoshi while Satoko sleeps in another room and it seems like she has a disease that seems to be worsening (As seen in other episodes this series). Satoshi and Irie walk home with each other in their baseball uniforms a little later and talk about Satoko. Satoshi is really upset about his sister and that she might not get better. Hanyuu is once again seen in the background apologizing over and over again.
While the village is preparing for another bout of warfare about the dam, Takano and Irie are in the office talking about the Himizawa Syndrome and that they need to do a live specimen as it was difficult using it on any other. That evening, Takano first meets Tomitake and talk a bit about his photography and all that. They seem to get along quite well.
Another brawl occurs that night with a group of men attacking another. There is a flashback to a time before the attacks when the victim comes in with an axe and starts attacking them (What do you know, they actually added something remotely like an axe… must be the first time this series) Hanyuu is once again in the corner apologizing over and over again. One man goes a bit crazy and starts chopping up the body.
In the medical office, Takano and Irie are talking about finally finding a live specimen. The man who went crazy is strapped to a bed while Irie questions Takano where she found it, however she does not say. Later on, the two of them plus Tomitake and that other guy who killed Irie in the previous arc was in the room and gave them the report on what the man was experiencing. In the morgue, Ooishi is with a doctor talking about what happened. Ooishi suspects it has something to do with the Sonozaki family.
In the hospital, Hanyuu is apologizing to Satoko when she wakes up and tells Irie she thought she heard someone saying sorry to her. When the credits are over, Rika is talking to Mion and talks about Satoko and her hesitancy to accept a gift from her. The episode ends here.
Review: I must admit, I would like to get past all this history and stuff so we can get to the good stuff and finally find out the ending to the series. I heard somewhere that this series was going for 26 episodes so I am not sure if it is 24 or 26. Regardless, I would have preferred to see everything that happened in this episode as flashbacks instead of all put together as all we have seen of the main characters since episode 13 is the few shots of them at the end of the credits and Satoko in this episode.
Not a bad episode and did offer the history but nothing really stood out.
