Summary: This episode starts off with Takano who is back in her child self calling out for god to kill her. As she is screaming a lightening bolt strikes a tree behind her and completely destroying it. She thinks that this is a good sign that it will soon be over and that she will be dead. It is getting cold and she tries to keep herself warm however behind her in the bushes, two of them orphanage men are looking for her and she quickly runs away. After awhile of running, she finds a telephone box which she manages to hide in and take shelter. She spots a single coin on the floor and uses it to call the man that her father told her to talk to, Dr Takano (Who in the future, she takes up his surname as she is just known as Miyo in these episodes). She grabs the phone and dials his number. When he picks up, she introduces herself and explains what happened to her parents. She calls out for him to save her before she runs out of change and the phone cuts off.

There is a car outside which notices the phone box. She quickly makes a run for it but the men are too fast for her and end up catching her, punching her and knocking her unconscious. She is back at the orphanage with the screams of her friends ringing through the building as she is taken into a dark room with the man whose finger she broke. He grabs her and takes her to another room where he attempts to choke her but before he can do too much damage, two of the men stop him doing it. It turned out that Dr Takano was looking through his scrapbook and decided to help Takano out by adopting her. That morning, Dr Takano arrives to pick her up. While in the car, Dr Takano draws his name with his fingers on the window and Takano follows his lead and writes hers on the window also. (Brings back memories)

We fast forward a bit to a time where Takano is helping move items for what I presume to be a new study for Dr Takano. He tells her to go to bed as she has a big day tomorrow starting school. She promises to grow up to be just like him and they promise that they will work together. We go forward to another time where the Doctor has a friend over and she gets to see some notes from him. They also mention the Himizawa Syndrome and the Doctors research on it. Turns out it isn’t accurate yet but he hopes to finish his research as soon as he can. The friend leaves soon after.

Another morning, Takano opens her window and states how nice the day is. The doctor is getting ready for an important meeting with some well powered men. Takano soon goes in to bring them all tea and overhears the Doctors failure in convincing them that the Syndrome is real and they all believe it is a hoax. As they leave, Takano begs them to listen to the Doctor however she is slapped by the Doctor, who later apologizes for it. Awhile later, he is talking to another man who tells him to just give up on the inquiries.

Takano takes up studying in order to prove the Himizawa Syndrome. When she finishes high school (or university), she graduates as top of the grade. In her study, she looks at the picture of her and the Doctor (Who I presume is now dead) and promises to complete his task for him.

After the ending scene, what I consider to be the best event so far in this arc occurs. Takano is at the Himizawa Shrine and throws a coin into the well as prayer however the coin refuses to go in and clatters onto the ground. Hanyuu is standing on the other side of the well looking very evil with her purple eyes. Takano realizes that it is in fact the god Oyashiro-sama. Hanyuu warns Takano that she is disapproving of her idea and that while she has the power to defeat them, they had more power and that they will stop what she is planning. During this, Takano laughs still believing that she can overpower them. The episode ends here.

Review: I must say, it is rather good to have finished this part of this arc as we can finally get down to the conclusion of the Higurashi series. First of all, it was a shame about what happened to Takano and this seems to play a small part in why she went on the rampage, however I don’t believe this is all that has influenced Takano and we shall be finding out soon I hope. Hanyuu was definitely a much better character this time around and she looked much better with the purple glaring eyes. I am now really looking forward to watching next week to see how Takano will react to Hanyuu’s threat.
