Summary: I am not guaranteeing 100% accuracy in this summary as I have been rather busy with work lately. First of all, I must mention the first image… why the image of the garbage dump? If you look in the opening scene, one of the images flashing past was of an axe and now it has been replaced by an image of the garbage dump. Fun little fact for you all.
It is another school day right after the festival and the group are all playing games. Rika is called out from the group by Ooishi and tells her the news she has been fearing, that Tomitake and Takano are dead. Irie is with another man from the group of garbage men who aided Takano in the murder. He has no idea what the man did and grieves with him.
Everyone later gathers around and Rika house and she decides to tell them all the truth about the endless June and the murders that have been occuring. Hanyuu is worried about this and feels that this last effort to end the endless June is futile. Some of the characters have flashbacks of both their past and their past arcs while others just believe her without having any problems as such. It turns out that anyone who has been affected by the Himizawa syndrome is prone to hallucinations to the time when they are delusional and start seeing things which cause them to have bursts of anger and as with all other arcs, kill other people. Of course, Rika is the key to saving them all and when they leave her, then the syndrome kicks in and they go mental.
Back in Irie’s office, the man calls in another of his accomplices and murders Irie at that moment. While driving around, Ooishi and his assistant run into Takano’s assistants who are trying to break into the building they did in the first arc of this series. However some snipers are waiting for the two of them and shoot them. The episode ends here…
Review: Despite the two axe attacks and this series being preempted from nearly every TV station in Japan, some stations in Japan have come through for us fans and given us this episode despite all the problems that have occurred. For those that do not know what happened, there was a 16 year old school girl in Japan who attacked her father with an axe and most stations decided to take Higurashi and School Days off air. It was also surprising to hear that there was another axe attack by a 15 year old boy at his father just this morning.
What can I say about this episode…. I was expecting a bit more action from it since this arc finishes next week but I suppose this weeks episode will be a big episode in this series with everyone know after Takano. Also, it wasn’t that surprising to see Ooishi shot with his inquisitive nature and of course, now all the children are on their own to escape them.
Everything else was really good about this episode! Also… sorry for the pretty bad summary this week.
