The castle in which Princess Arita lives in is invaded by some very weird demons so after the death of the king, she flees the castle while an imposter takes her place, which also seems to be a very close friend of hers. When she is fleeing through the forest, she comes across a powerful swordswoman named Pharis who is acompanied by a group of supposedly friendly demons.
Arita and Pharis end up falling off a cliff and while they were falling, their souls switched bodies each exchanging for each other. Pharis offers to protect the country and Arita accepts the offer despite having switched bodies with a swordswoman. They inflitrate the castle and thus run into two chibi demons and their master. We have all the glorious blood and guts fight scenes that so many people have grown to love. Now Arita is assumed to be a “superwoman” and now becomes Princess of the kingdom…. althrough the problem is, that the princess is now a mass fighter!
Review: First of all, I would like to dedicate this review to my good friend Jess, who I know in real life and since she complained that Kamichama Karin was too cute, I hope this is a little bit better for you! This episode really shocked me! I was expecting that it would be some sort of gorey episode that I would never watch again but for an OVA, this is the best one I have EVER seen (Even better then the Rozen Maiden OVA). The graphics were some of the best I have seen in and out OVA animes and don’t even get me started on the sound, it was all high paced and suited the theme brilliantly! The OP and Ending themes were also some of the best I have seen produced in Japan!
Storyline wise, it was definately something I have watched many times picking up different bits of infomation from it which I would expect all good OVA’s to do but sadly, not all animes have offered as much as this one has. Fortunately, this was only the first OVA and I look forward to watching the second one!
Overall Grade: A++
